Hey, I'm Ian.

I'm not just a Graphic Designer. I couldn't be just one thing; I'm a creative all-rounder, an obsessive generalist. My varied experience gives me a unique viewpoint of the design process.

My career has taken me through Sales, Marketing, Market Research, Brand Management, Graphic Design, and Video Production across massive multinational companies in multiple sectors, small independents, state government and freelancing with startups and individuals.

My approach to work is measured, open, and always forward-looking. My goal is to combine compelling art direction and the exacting principles of design.

Education and meaning are the two key drivers in my professional life — my curiosity and the curiosity of others to create and share meaningful work and experiences. If I ever stop asking, "How do you do that?" it's over.

I'm a creative who gets as much satisfaction from the right process as I do from an exceptional end result. We can only achieve optimum creativity when the correct method and process are in place. I could spend all day looking at design systems.

• I studied Music Technology at College and have a degree in Film Production Technology.
• I started using Photoshop in 2003 to help make a newspaper for junior reporters in Hereford, UK. I created an image of a knight fighting a dragon. Cool.
• I'm from the UK but have been sheltering from the cold in Sydney for over ten years. I liked it so much that I became a citizen and have two little Australians of my own.
• I'm obsessed with reading, films and music, but who isn't?
